2018 Holi Celebration at RBK Hanumant

Holi is a joyful Hindu festival of colours. It is celebrated over several days in early spring when the wheat is harvested. The festival marks the coming of spring and observes new life and the seasons.

Holi relatively draws on various mythologies. First and foremost is the burning of the devil Holika, secondly, it also draws on the legend of Radha and Krishna. It is basically the start of new hopes and relationships, signified through the burst of colours everywhere.

RBK Hanumant – an English Medium School in Bhavnagar tries to celebrate most of the festivals, special days and other occasions throughout the academic year, to help children learn and appreciate different values, beliefs and cultures.

Recently the pre-primary section of RBK Hanumant had organized a Holi celebration on 1st March 2018. All the students came in colourful outfits. The students were introduced to the culture with drama and dance performance. Teachers highlighted the significance of the festival. They explained the significance of Holi and encouraged them to enjoy the festival in the right spirit. The students took part in the activity with a lot of excitement and enthusiasm. Throughout the event, all the students and teachers enjoyed the celebration.
